Beware Unsuspecting Picnickers!
I will seek you out, there on the beach and your lunch will be my lunch!
Yesterday, we were very lucky with the weather, dodging the only downpour whilst having lunch. Today, the forecast promised better things, and so the sun shone on the Jubilee celebrations on the Lyme Regis promenade.
We found the pasty shop which we discovered on our first visit to Lyme and after polishing those off, we sat whilst the girls played in the sand and on the trampolines. The owner of those was leaving nothing to chance. He had individual electronic timers, 6 in total, one for each trampoline. No child was going to get away with a second over 5 minutes! We reluctantly left (well two of us left relcutantly: 'Daddy, that didn't last very long!') and went in search of cream teas.
The gulls patrolled overhead constantly, swooping down occasionally, but really quite timid on the packed beach.
By the way, the park and ride is highly recommended, no parking in the town to speak of!
Tomorrow, the weather will turn again. It's the summer. It's the bank holiday. It's June. It's the Jubilee. We didn't stand a chance of a good week with those odds!!
