Colossal Scarab...

...A back blip, from the British Museum where we spent a few happy hours celebrating a birthday.
(It's a bit bonkers I suppose, when you see that written down, in a 'birthday treat' kind of way.
But, I guess that's the way we roll!).

We had a nice normal meal out too.
Honest!

Some call the above a 'colossal scarab' (that's what it said on the plinth)...
Some might say it's a bit 'spaceshippy'?
(You say potato..).

We went there to see an Exhibition about Ancient Lives, they've scanned eight mummies and discovered all sorts of interesting information about them.
Sadly, no photography was allowed in the exhibition.

But, happily, it was permitted in the main halls :-)

I'm never quite sure about information in museums (though I know that much of it is researched incredibly well and meticulously).
Maybe it's my sense of humour, maybe my scepticism, but sometimes they say things like 'this was used for....(e.g. a mud ball containing human hair) magical and ritual purposes'.
And I (with no knowledge whatsoever) think... 'Really?'
(In the absence of a pretty box from a gift shop, how would a Mother have kept a lock of precious hair??
Mud ball sounds fairly practical to me.

Still.
What do I know?
Nothing about spaceships, clearly :-)
