Things aren't what they used to be.

Now a Cotswold outdoor store.  Went in for a pair of Merrell's Jungle Moccassins, approach shoes; great for walking on holiday.  No longer stocked.  

When i worked in Durham for the Durham Advertiser group Burton's was my tailor, then I went up market to Hepworths.  Where do you go today for a made-to-measure suit?  Does anyone wear one anymore?

Here in my bit of the north east - Sunderland and County Durham there is an expression to denote your complete refusal to comply with something you're asked to do…

"I'd rather show my bum in Burton's window".

I wonder how that came about.  Just a thought.
