Something A Bit Different
There was something different happening at Country Fest this year. The showfield is bordered by the presently land-locked part of the Lancaster Canal. It's nice to give the dog an evening walk along the towpath.
To coincide with the show, the National Trailboat Festival was held on this section of the canal. These are boats, some of which are of the style of narrowboats but are smaller and lighter so they can be kept on a trailer at home and taken out at holiday time, just like a caravan.
There was even a Caraboat: a boat with wheels that can be towed directly. Only 64 were ever built and that was back in the 70s.
The show went well today, lots of visitors and dry weather.
