PRACE 2015

Today was the official start of the PRACE 2015 Coference although the actual conference Welcome did not start until 4pm. So i spent the morning and early afternoon cycling around the city centre again. I went to St Patrick's Cathedral again and got to look inside this time. I then cycled to Aviva Stadium at around 12nn to register and get my goody bag. It was an exhausting bike ride and so I decided to go back to the hostel to rest since I had ample amount of time before the start.
Poster session for me was not busy. I didnt have a lot of people coming over to see my poster but I got about 4 people who were kind enough to listen to me and ask a few questions about my work. It was also good to know that I was considered for Best Poster Competition (winner will be announced on Thurs May 28). There were about 18 posters in the event and around 14 were considered for the award. I am not getting my hopes up since the other studies/posters were way more complex and sophisticated than mine. But I have to admit it would be nice to get that 1500 Euros worth of award put towards training  the winner on petascale computing.
