The shark's mouth
This is part of the Rotterdam Central Station square, edgy highrise buildings with the sharp point of the new station building, which the people of Rotterdam call the 'shark's mouth' or the 'hairdresser's' (I really don't know where that is coming from). For MonoMonday with the theme 'sharp', hosted by JDO, with thanks to her.
I have arrived at my hotel and had a great Chinese meal and took a short stroll in the neighbourhood. Extras are more Central Station, plus the very edgy and poignant statue by Zadkine, 'the ravaged city' , the city without its heart. I was born in Rotterdam 11 years after the end of WWII, but many parts of the city were still in ruins then. And as a contrast the weirdest gnome statue ever, apparently the statue has something to do with Father Christmas, but its popular name is Kabouter Buttplug (kabouter means gnome , the rest can be deducted, sorry)
Thank you so much for your kind and supportive comments, that does help very much.
