The weekly sale of cattle and sheep takes place every Monday at Lanark Auction Market.

This new centre replaced the old market site some ten years ago.

Any external view of the old market would have always featured people as the main focal point now in modernity everything is enclosed losing much of the atmosphere.

New structures and a new generation of colourful characters roam the rings buying and selling, exchanging news too hot for the national media and generally doing business in much the same way as their farming ancestors have done for centuries.
