Pilsbury Castle

We'd planned on a hike up to some of the actual Peaks of the Peak District but given that we set off in the rain we decided to downgrade from a high and treacherous limestone ridge to a rather more manageable trek from Hartington up to the site of Pilsbury Castle. To be honest it was quite blustery enough as it was, particularly since we'd stretched yesterday's ride to Newstead out past the 25 mile mark by exploring an extra bit of Cycle Route 6 on the way back into Nottingham and were already suffering with tired legs before we started today's escapades...
