No Bamboccioni this one!

I did have several flower and bee blips lined up after taking a break in the garden from painting the upstairs loo, but then I heard this little guy singing his heart out on the neighbour's chimney and it had to be him...a mark of success after a couple of scary days with the jackdaws down our chimney. He seemed to be quite happy in his new found independence. I'd liked to believe that he is the same blackbird fledgling from the second brood in the shrubbery opposite our kitchen door. His parents are particularly competent and must have some sense that we mean no harm as they have been quite happy to hop around us when we are hanging out the washing or enjoying the garden. They have been feeding him for a few days out and about but now he is on his own!

Tony's border is promising to burst out into colour any time now and I am looking forward to it. Our 'garden' is actually a strip of grass which runs the full length of our terrace but most neighbours garden the borders outside their houses to some degree. There are lots of plants in our bit that have come through the winter and it is promising to be a lovely show. We've also brought the baskets down from the greenhouse and they are looking super too. What with these, the border and the veg in the allotment, Tony has surpassed himself this year! All we need now are more ladybirds to chomp on the aphids on the lupins!
