jubilee beacons

Our mini-break at Centerparcs came to an end today, and we moved on to visit a friend in the south lakes. We went to a jubilee party in a local village and then scampered up Arnside Knott to see the beacon being lit, and to watch for other beacons on the hills around and about. This is over Grange Over Sands, looking towards Cartmel. We saw 14 other beacons in total, as well as fireworks from possibly as far south as Blackpool and across from Barrow.

But then it got a little chilly so we went and had a cup of tea!
