Ann's ramblings

I'm a Swan!

A couple of months ago Scotrail were giving away free rail tickets and we bagged a couple of return tickets to Linlithgow.

We had a great day. It was chilly but dry and we had a wee wander around the town, went to Linlithgow Palace and the Church of St Michael. Both were amazing and it was weird to be standing in the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots.

Linlithgow Loch is beautiful. We walked along part of the shore and saw lots of swans, ducks and coots. I want to go back soon when it is a bit warmer and walk all the way round.

We finished off our day by having dinner and a couple of beers in The Four Marys before heading back to Edinburgh.

There is lots of history in Linlithgow but I picked this for my photo because he/she was almost posing for a pic :)
