Tree of the Year

The woods where Logan and I walk almost every day are very well maintained (well this is Germany). Almost every year there's a bit of tree felling going on (of mostly old and possibly sick trees) but there is also always tree planting. Each year a small cluster of a new species of tree is planted and with them comes a notice board giving you information about the tree.
2012 is the year for the European Larch or Larix decidua, a rather small and runty specimen can be seen at about 11 o'clock in the blip.
