Heading Home

We're finally home, although feeling rather jet lagged, but I guess that's normal. We had a great flight and arrived at Heathrow 45 minutes early, although I only got a couple of hours sleep again. The plane was a Jumbo this time, called Mustang Sally.

Unfortunately, I didn't get an upgrade, but Alan was able to take me into the Upper Class Lounge at the airport. It was really nice, and they kept giving me glasses of champagne - it would have been rude to say no wouldn't it?

I travelled in Premium just a few rows back from Alan in Upper Class, although separated by a curtain, but he spoke to one of the stewards and arranged that I could go and 'visit' him after the meals had been served, and they also allowed me access to the bar for a few more glasses of champagne, so I can't complain.

I travelled next to a lady called Janet who will be 80 this year and had been to stay with her sister. She told me that she'd lost her daughter just after Christmas, who had left 4 children, which is so sad. As we got talking she told me that she had 9 children, including the daughter she'd lost, and 16 grandchildren! She was a professional dancer in her time and now travels as far as Australia and New Zealand as an examiner of dancers, although she's about to give it up.

She lives in Malvern, but is actually from Brighton and her Aunt who lives in a home in Kemp Town, here in Brighton, has just celebrated her 100th birthday. So all the family came down to celebrate and she received her telegram off the queen. Yet another story to add to my holiday tales!

Obviously I've not taken many photos today, so you've got a blip from somewhere over the US.

The limo was waiting for us when we arrived and we got home about 2pm. We've unpacked, the washing machine is on and we nipped to the shop to pick up some essentials. Now we've eaten though, I could nod off so I think I'll go and have a shower and head to bed - fingers crossed I wake up for work in the morning!
