Chariots of London....
Hit in the Face
Suddenly the Street
Hits You
and Greets You
Like a slap in the Face....
Either a mega pub crawl on too much London Pride bitter (warm 'heavy' beer to our overseas friends) and now chucking (up) out time, or
...that feeling when you finally evolve from that black hole that is the London Underground, and finally the outpouring onto the street at Leicester Square station - and, er, a rickshaw tries to take your legs off...
Taken with super-wide 10mm, that's how close this thing was! Even more giddy-making in LARGE.
True, if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the cauldron that is a weekend in London, or go to a quaint quiet park in the suburbs.
But Central London can be that intoxicating, all-enveloping heady and giddying concoction that is fear, excitement and anticipation.
And, how the !uck did my camera get turned to manual exposure instead of aperture priority and it gave me a one-fifth of a second exposure in the mid afternoon??
Not the perfect panning shot, mainly as it was a grab shot as the 'shaw erupted out of nowhere like a bat out of hell, and instead of the anticipated 1/30 sec or so, I got this. But I quite liked it and tons of extra sharpening and a bit of a colour boost - and well, you have one of my personal interpretations of London. So, bi-polar, this City, love/hate etc etc.
Des tells me that Mayor Boris is trying to outlaw these 'chariots' - I suggest that they all congregate out in the Olympic Park and have one big race and it should become a televised blood sport! I can just see the wild-haired Boris getting excited about that as he places his bet...
Many thanks for ALL and everything on yesterdays very shiny Canary Wharf blip.
