UWA School of Music courtyard
Percy Grainger, an Australian born composer who spent most of his adult life in London and the States, was a great supporter of music education in Australia. This statuette of him is at the University of Western Australia, in the grounds of the School of Music. I was there today to hear the Vagabond Ensemble, a talented group of chamber music enthusiasts who performed a selection of works for wind and piano. All pieces were the work of Paul Hindemith.
