Making zongzi ('rice dumplings')
My first attempt at making 'zongzi', a traditional food item for the festival that takes place on the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese calendar. These used to be my favorite food item when I was just a boy, and a highlight every year. I remember 'helping' my grandmother make them when I was young (probably about 6 years old), but I have never made them myself. They turned out better than expected, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
