Old Gaffers Festival

This weekend sees one of the most popular sailing events of the year when the pretty harbour town of Yarmouth hosts the Old Gaffers Festival.

Dozens of these gaff rigged boats of all ages come from far and wide to race and party and the village is thronged with market stalls, musical events ,vintage cars,a fairground and much more.

The end of the little pier is the perfect spot for photographing the racing although today most of the course was on the far side of the water near Lymington. This shot was taken near the start before the fleet disappeared from view.
