Fallen Poppy
Friday’s frost was too much for the poppies. Five buds that were standing tall collapsed onto the grass. This one, that I blipped as a bud, partly opened today. I took some shots of it before I picked them and put them in a vase. I don’t blip cut flowers.
The frost killed off the tagetes marigolds and nasturtiums in the greenhouse, and wilted the silver beet and outdoor pak chois. Other things are looking a bit sick too.
The last two days have been relatively mild- up to 11ºC during the daytime, after light morning frosts.
