Shugborough Estate - it has remained in the Anson family for many generations, the seat of the Litchhfields. In 1960 the Earl Litchfield died and the estate was handed to the NT to pay the death duties. The 5th Earl, known as Patrick Litchfield, had an apartment in the house and became a well known English photographer. An interesting place to stop on route to the Yorkshire Dales........
