Rosemary Beetle

I spent the afternoon in the garden planting out the vegetables I bought last week and tidying up a bit more of the shrubbery. 

I spotted the first damsel fly to visit my pond this year, but it didn't hang around for its photo!  I also spotted this rather pretty red and green beetle on my rosemary. It's not the sharpest of shots, but discovering that it is actually a Rosemary Beetle, and I have not seen it before, it had to be my photo of the day.

A bit more research has uncovered that it is a pest originating from France, and I have submitted a sighting report to the RHS who are monitoring it spread. So it's a bit like the lily beetles, nice to look at and photo, but then dispose of it!
