Montacute House
We intended to go on a long walk on Ham Hill this morning but, when we arrived to park in Montacute, we saw there was a Farmers' Market taking place in the grounds of Montacute House.
We ended up buying plants, pork pies, scotch eggs and locally brewed beer, which perhaps aren't quite as good for you as a long walk (!), but we did walk around the parkland before we repaired to the local pub for lunch.
This is the view that visitors to the house would have enjoyed from the 16th Century onwards as they approached on horseback or in their carriages.
This afternoon we popped on to see Tess's Dad, who is suffering with gout at the moment, got home to find Kate & Sophie waiting for us, and then enjoyed the Cup Final (and the pie and scotch egg!)
