Hackney
We've been up London, innit.
First stop was Battersea to see how long it takes to walk from the station to where Pete might be working in the near future. From there we walked to Westminster. Squeezed on to a District line train to Whitechapel. Walked from Whitechapel to Hackney, where we met up with our friend, Rob, for lunch at The Black Cat vegan cafe - it is a great relaxed place, food was delicious.
After lunch we visited Sutton House, a National Trust property that is a 16th Century house where Thomas Cromwell's apprentice Ralph Sadlier lived. It was very interesting.
We decided to catch the 48 bus back to London Bridge rather than be squashed and boiled on the underground. Managed to get the front seats on the top deck so we were treated to a feast of views.
Back home and about to flop. A splendid day, weather dry and warm although we saw a surprising number of people in bobble hats and fleeces.
Will catch up with comments later/tomorrow.
