The other morning, junior and I were having a conversation over breakfast about his two current fave topics, Star Wars and the Universe.
After being informed that when I die and come back as a Jedi Knight, there are three baddies to look out for, the question 'Why does Venus have a train set' caused a minor stir and then worked out that 'Venus has a transit' was the answer.

So today on a grey, cloudy and rainy day I headed down to the Perth Cultural Centre where Scitech volunteers were handing out pinhole cameras to safely view 'Venus' train set'. A brief glimpse of a soggy sun through this rather speccy viewer saw the sun but perhaps not venus or her train set.

Oh well, only another 105 years to go till the next 'Train set of Venus.'
