Small talk.

We made it to Bath today, through the stair rods of rain. One of my favourite shops there is The Dressing Room, an independent retailer of beautiful underthings who've been trading for thirty years, no mean feat considering that Figleaves have been in business for most of those thirty years. The staff there greet us by name, including our daughter who they've 'known' since she was on the inside. They've pretty much spoiled me for shopping anywhere else, though fiscal common sense still dictates the odd purchase from another independent or M&S on occasion.
