REGURGATATION

Not a fantastic picture of a Kingfisher but a very interesting one from a Natural History view-point!
I've often seen the Kingy's regurgatating their food - Puking like mad ! I've sort of felt sorry for them - having had a little experience or two of Puking!  ( like we all have I guess)  But No. - This is common practice - they make all the unwanted legs,wings and bones into a little ball and they sick it out    (as not needed!)  The little lump on the right of the picture is one such a lump of  unwanted crab legs - what an amazing digestive system - they've retained all the goodies - Hmm! crabs are nice ! How interesting is nature !

I put up an extra which was number two on the rank today - I thought the kingy shot was less good but more interesting if you know  what I mean ?
