Blackbird...

.. Honestly, you'd think I could have made more effort for a Big Blip?
I did give it thought.
(Not enough thought, obviously).

Having returned to blip, after a short absence, I am under strict instructions not to let it become overwhelming!
And life is, at the moment, quite busy. 
We're mid decision-making about our future (in a good way).
Me running around with a camera might not be the best use of my time.

I suppose it's usual to think about past blips at this juncture?
How it all began?  (Someone said to me, 'I think you'd like this..'
And I did!).
Stuff that's happened in the past couple of years? (Bereavements, and I wrote a cookery book. I'm sure there were other things too!)
Blip-wise, mainly I was so impressed, and still am, by the warmth and sense of community here. There are blippers I feel I've almost come to know.
(There was a genuine feeling of almost relief, when I returned, to find most of them still here, with their lovely pets and interests and locations).

Wit and shine (or other similar spoonerisms) are escaping me at the moment.
But I give you a beautiful blackbird.

A young man who visited today looked out of the window, and I pointed out this exceptionally fearless blackbird (which I have a sneaky feeling is one I 'rescued' after a bump into the window).
He (clearly less than impressed) said, 'Yes, it's a nice one'.
'My grandparents do nothing but watch the birds through the window'.

He likened me to his GRANDPARENTS?!!!!

I was feeling almost chipper until then :-/

If I'm still here (and so is Blip) after another year, I'll attempt a more suitably sparkly anniversary entry than a 'nice blackbird'! :-).
