Starling School

We have been entertained by the carryings-on in the elder tree this morning as several parent starlings arrived on the feeders with their offspring, showing them how to access the food.  The youngsters clumsily hopped around the tree, sometimes landing on each other! A couple of hours later and some of them had learned how to feed themselves.

My blip is not terribly clear but it captures some of the furious flapping and shouting that was going on in the tree for a while.

On another subject, I haven't forgotten about the Railway Children Blipmeet but I'm having to have dental work at the moment, so hesitating to pick a date in case I have to cancel - watch this space!
