Old and New

We stormed the Victorian parliament today to protest about our ludicrous train service from Shepparton to Melbourne.  About 150 people boarded the train at 6.30am, many dressed in their pyjamas, "oneseys" and dressing gowns (no, I'm not saying! :o)).  We were received very well, but changed to sit in on question time before being served refreshments in the Parliamentary Committee Room and listening to an address by the Minister for Transport, Jacinta Allen. Promises were made, but we'll see.
These are the beautiful 1850's lights at the top of the steps into Parliament House.  I think they are such a reminder of a bygone era and good contrast against the high rise buildings in the backdrop accross the road. Then, of course, there's that blue sky. Notice the eco light bulbs. A concession to our carbon awareness.
