Nigella damascena

It has rained on and off all day so I raced around the garden taking photos of wet flowers and another mint humbug snail as you seemed to like the last one (he hit the spotlight).

The chosen flower is Love-in-a-mist (Nigella damascena). The plant's common name comes from the flower being nestled in a ring of multifid, lacy bracts. It is also sometimes called devil-in-the-bush. The flower has been grown in English cottage gardens since Elizabethan times.

Watched part of the Jubilee Service today from St Paul's and was concerned to see that Prince Philip wasn't present. Fingers crossed that he gets well soon.

A blip chum had asked for some Tunnock's chocolates so I have parcelled them up and will send them tomorrow if I can.

You really are all a great bunch of people. So many kind words. Thank you
