The Company Shed

Went here for a late lunch. It is on Mersea Island in the Blackwater estuary, Essex. We arrived at 2.00 pm and were told there would be space for us at 3.00! It is literally a shed with plastic tablecloths. You get a bread board and bread knife, (you take your own bread) and kitchen roll on the table. We had the cold fish platter with salad. The platter included, smoked salmon, smoked mackerel - plain and peppered, dressed crab, green lipped mussels, shrimps, prawns and crevettes. You can take your own wine or buy the local Mersea wine, we stuck to water as we were driving. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal as I love sea food. You have to be prepared to get messy hands dealing with the shellfish!
