Tile

Today, Matt traveled with our nephew to Hayward Field to watch our niece take home 6th place in the state shot put competition.

Meanwhile, the children and I went to the Grange to mold clay into river rocks and river ripples to be used in refurbishing an old wading pool at the park.

It was constructed during the Depression so that small children had a place to frolic while their older siblings were splashing in the creek. Mosaic tile will be used to transform the pool into a beautiful fountain. Community members can help create the elements and install them.

My mom, pictured here, came up with the idea as part of her community leadership cohort.

I am happy to get a nice picture of her at the event. These boys played with tiles while waiting for the program to begin.

Toward the end of the workshop, Nana and Zayde showed up for a visit. We celebrated Grace's birthday, a little early.
