Victory
Sorry for my erratic commenting but I've been in the middle of one of these for the past few days! Might be having visitors this weekend so OFC is in full swing once more. Lounge, hall and bathroom done. Kitchen and guest bedroom (haha, yep, in spite of havng a flat just big enough to swing a cat in I do have one) to go. It'll be touch and go!
Look what I found under all the crap in the lounge. These stamps were released for the centennial of the Battle of Trafalgar in 2005. The stamp of Nelson's flagship H.M.S. Victory has pulped wood from the hull of the ship itself through it. Philately was my Grandad's thing but try as he and my folks might, it just didn't stick. I do have a number of first day covers now though and some rather special stamps, some of which have equally interesting stories. Perhaps I'll share some more one day (if I can find them)!
I'm just about to enter the kitchen. Wish me luck!
