strictly come gardening

Darcy Bussell, as well as being an ex-ballerina and a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, is also a rose.  A very nice, fragrant one.

Missed blips;

Early this morning through the kitchen window; Dan is sat crossed-legged on the patio facing the sun.  Sat on the lawn in front of him are a pair of Mallard ducks (a him and a her).  Before I can get my camera, they waddle off - clearly not into yoga.

Inspecting the lettuces and there’s a fledgeling blue-tit stuck in the fleece mesh that I cover them with.  It’s released and then tries to ‘climb’ for want of a better word - wings flap but flight it most definitely is not - up the 5’ high brick wall that separates the garden from the rest of the world. It fails time and time again.  Mother blue-tit sits on top of the wall twittering encouragement and lining up a stack of tasty snacks.  

I move to get my camera but she sends me the following tweet ;’no photos.  Please respect our privacy at this stressful time’.  On about the 6th attempt he makes it to the top of the wall.  And then he’s gone.  Somewhere.  Hence the rose.
