"Wind Tower" ATM
Went for a lovely lunch today with the AWA 40th Tribute Book committee to celebrate, belatedly, the launch of the Tribute book and to sign each other's copies. My friend pointed out this "wind tower" ATM on the way back to the car. Wind towers were historically used to cool houses in the Middle East before the advent of ac. They are towers which catch the breezes higher up and then thru their clever design funnel the cooler breezes back down into the house below. Nowadays some new houses and other buildings have non functioning wind towers as a design feature, but this is the first time I've seen one used as an ATM booth!
