Big frothy sea

I'm not sure this photo really conveys just how angry the sea was today at St Clair and , from news reports, up much of the east coast of New Zealand . The waves were pounding the esplanade with such force that the water was whipped into a seething foam, made for exciting viewing as we enjoyed a leisurely lunch!
