Richard in Cardiff

In Cardiff, fully present with Richard, sometimes known as Lo Jardinier, and his gentle, soft-spoken daughter. He brought not only his generous heart and wise eyes, his ever- changing face full of every human feeling, but also a book of Gwyn Williams' journals, edited by his daughters, including a poem that begins:

ASPECTS OF NOW
(A poem for the telephone)

The moment is now
you can test it all by now
by how things are now.

Now and in Wales: sitting at a table redolent of good Italian cooking, looking from one pair of loving eyes into another, and another, my life overflows with happiness. This privilege: to meet at last an old friend, our lives bound together by sorrow and possibility, by completely unexpected bliss, by the courage to say yes. Again, yes.
