Glesni

Mae'n ddiddorol sut gân yn dal gyda chi ar ôl ei chlywed hi dim ond unwaith.  Dw i'n cofio'r 'Cân Pryderi' o'r cynhyrchiad Mabinogi (gan Robin Williamson/Moving being) ym 1984.  Mae'r gair 'glesni' yn cyfieithu yn llythrennol i 'blueless' ond yr ystyr yw 'greenness', 'newness' ayyb. Dw i'n meddwl mae'r gân yn bert ac mae'r cof y noswaith wedi dal gyda fi ers 30 blynedd.

It is interesting how a song is still with you after hearing it only once. I remember the 'Pryderi's Song' from the production of the Mabinogi (by Robin Williamson/Moving Being) in 1984. The word 'glesni' translates literally to 'blueless' but the meaning is 'greenness', 'newness' and so on. I think the song is beautiful and the memory of the evening has stayed with me for 30 years.
