Learning day by day

Ballerina Girl

So a late night lead into a ridiculously early morning, but thank goodness for 'Black Sheep' as he persuaded William that although it was broad daylight 5am was not time to get up and he did go back to sleep until 06.30!

An early breakfast meant that by 10am Ballerina Girl and Noise with dirt on it were requiring more food, so we stopped at Wiveton Hall. We go there every visit and love it. Scrambled eggs and baby 'cino's for them and a strong coffee for me strengthened us to walk into Blakeney and a reasonable way out into the Marshes. We had a wander round the town and as it started to rain ended up in the Methodist Chapel café where we had bacon butties and a cup of tea for a smidgen of the price anywhere else and one of the ladies and myself had interesting conversations about various things like genocide in Rwanda at the level of a five year old's understanding. Both kids wrote in the visitors book before we went and I was told that I had wonderful children I had, polite, articulate and intelligent. They were amazed that Will was reception year (sometimes I forget that myself) particularly after his insight on how to solve civil wars (it involved obstacle races!). Carys and what looked like an Oompa Loompa in his waterproofs, walked back to the car at Wiveton Hall in fits of giggles.

We stopped at Sheringham on the way back, picked up tea in Tesco, had an ice-cream on the front and a good walk. Walking past the beach huts, two were occupied, after we were past them Will piped up "It is sad isn't it Mummy?" "What Will?" "That that hut is all they have to live in!" Once I stopped laughing I explained to him.

The weather perked up on the way back so instead of heading to the campsite I headed to Overstrand Beach for tea. We had the place to ourselves and so when she finished her food Carys spent the time doing ballet (specifically practising the grade 5 reverence from the dance displays last weekend!) on the deserted beach, as you do. Once Will finished his tea we headed off to the park where they played for ages before we went back to the tent to try and sleep.
