Fickle sky

Twenty minutes before I took this shot, I took this one. The sky was a gray flannel sheet and it started raining bucketloads. Now, twenty minutes after this shot, the rain has returned, the sky is dark and the wind has picked up.

We have a saying in Portland in the spring: If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. It is certainly true today. Now the blue sky is returning even as I type this.

This shot is looking up through our Interlacken grapevine that shades the back porch in the summer. The grapes are wonderful, but the raccoons and squirrels often get them before we do.
