Loch Skeen

On at least 3 occasions I’ve looked at the footpath along the hillside by the Grey Mare's Tail and decided it was too exposed and that I'd lose my balance and go tumbling down the slope.

Today we sat in the car park (in the drizzle) and my words were "I’ll give it a go but will probably bottle out". I’m pleased to say that it wasn’t as scary as it looked and we carried on to Loch Skeen. The low cloud and amount of water in Tail Burn (which we needed to cross) deterred us from doing a longer route. Still a good walk and we only met 4 other hikers.

There’s a photo of the falls from the viewpoint in extras.
