Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz River is generally dry except for this short section just downstream of the Sweetwater Wetlands. The wetlands provies the final purifying from a waste treatment plant. Santa Cruz historically flowed free until civilization came with agriculture and population growth. Now it just seeps into the groundwater.
23 mile bike ride today. Riding south a slight upgrade and light headwind held my speed down to 10-12. On the northerly return it was easy to cruise along at 16-17 mph. I even shifted into the big chain ring and hit 20 mph for a short stretch.
