Deepening Grounds for Spiritual Reflexion
Everyday life is full of petty absurdities. You walk to the the big old paper bin to discover that it is overfilled already. You don’t thank the Bin for this Learning Opportunity. But curse and sigh, knowing your reaction is useless, stupid, unwise. Why this character habit? Would you have done that when being alone? Why buiding up this childish drama?
So, we made a much longer walk, carrying the heavy plastic bag, filled with old papers, I could have thrown away years ago to another bin. More questions. Why did you build up this passion for journalism, collection furor for papers? I am glad to have dropped this old addiction. Barely old papers to be found on my premisses. I feel liberated from that burden, so why still curse?
These questions resonated through as we crossed the deep-green foottracks in the nearby park, full of waterways, hidden canals, overgrown with green vegetation. The park connects our neighbourhood with the dunes. High dunes from where you can look over the sea beyond. The sky was grey, the wind cold. The surf looked greygreen and not quite inviting. But I took my salty dips, plunging around. Washing away all absurdities, questions. As we walked home again longing for hot tea, we gave each other a hand. Hers being as cold as mine. How heart warming!
