Transit of Venus

Transits of Venus are among the rarest of predictable astronomical phenomena. After 2012, the next transit of Venus will be in December 2117, so I won't be around to see that.

Here in the UK, it looks as if we'll be able to see the 'external egress' ie Venus leaving the sun's disk at about sunrise tomorrow morning. That's if we can see the sun of course:)


Update on yesterday's moth blip: I think it is a Cabbage Moth which is probably loved by farmers and allotmenteers up and down the country.
