London, Baby!

2years 223 days

Katie was soooo excited when she got up. We have been counting bedtimes til holiday with Lyra and Ellie for really quite a long time. It almost all went a bit wrong when we set off to leave and she had hidden the house keys. But we made it. As we were walking along to the station, a friend happened to drive past and gave us a lift, a much appreciated bonus.

The journey there went fine, she was a good girl as usual on the train. She spent ages doing stickers in a couple of magazines we'd been sent (Thanky0u Family Pink!). We arrived in London a little late, which worked perfectly as it meant we got to meet our friend Jess at the station before we got on the tube.

We all headed to the Science Museum. Katie loved the garden rooms, for preschoolers. The waterplay area was by far her favourite. This particular part of it she loved. And was quite skilled with. Four times she managed a direct hit of the same boy, despite him moving between hits! She ate most of a large ice cream, ate grapes she'd insisted she didnt want mummy to buy and then played in a flight simulator.

We left the museum and were headed for Hyde Park to fill an hour before we were supposed to go meet JKJ10/Challenge. She fell deep asleep. Which made the trip to the art exhibition in a ceramics store quite awkward as she'd have run round rather full of it. Plus phone died, and all those usual frustrations, so we headed back to see Lyra and family early. To Katie's delight. They all had a bath together, stood and squealed with each other in sheer excitement, and chased LOTS. They are so glad to be reunited.
