Fresh Install
My PC has been playing up for the past few days, it's a Windows 7 that is over a year and a half old and the operating system has slowed considerably. I turned it off before going to bed last night and it still hadn't shut down properly when I got up this morning. I have to manually kill a few processes each time I want to use it too......time for a rebuild.
So I spent some time ensuring by back up was up to date - I have a USB hard drive attached and it backs up specified folders silently, the best £65 I ever spent! I always have all my data on a separate partition to the OS anyway, so the backup is only there for unforeseen disasters. I did a bit of reading about how it would affect my iTunes/iPad and then bit the bullet.
Went smoothly - too smoothly to be honest. Having installed various strains of Windows over the last 20 years more times that I care to remember (well over a hundred!), this one was by far the easiest. Imported my Lightroom library, then my iTunes library and my iPad didn't even notice what I had done! And Chrome synch is just the best - all bookmarks and add-ons reinstalled once I signed in.....wonderful what they can do these days. Took hours, but so far it seems like new. Hopefully it'll be another 18 months before I have to do that again :-\
Sorry - that was boring as hell, felt like I had to share it all, I know you all like my nerdy tomes about Raspberry Pi's and the like :-P
Jnr Snr here wanted to do some maths with me (honestly - she's a one!) and so I made her tidy up their toy room before I'd do it. She's not looking too happy about my strict standards before I passed it fit for use. The white blinds behind her got totally bleached out and gives the shot a nice studio look - pure luck (stored for future use).
