cold blast

We have had a really cold blast come through the country. It is still affecting the North Island. This is the Port Hills- don't get much snow over these- had a light dusting this morning.I was out early to pick up Elsa from her dog camp. Time to put heat pump on and make a coffee....keep warm kiwis.

Extra image would be my favourite from time at Zealandia over the weekend. It is a closeup of the Takahe. He eats by using his beak on its side, as we would use scissors on a lawn... Really interesting to watch, obviously sucessful.
