Pentecost tree

Oh, I know it's not really red enough, but actually I'm absurdly pleased with the lightness of this photo, snapped as I headed, late as usual, up the steep drive to church this morning. It was the best weather of the day, with the sun slanting through the leaves that weren't out when I was there a fortnight ago, and despite the hurry I just had to record it.

I haven't done anything to the photo - this is what it really looked like, with the new green in the background and the pale blue of the sky. And if you look carefully, you can just make out the hills of the far side of the Firth ...
