Local Elections

Sunday is the traditional Voting Day, in Spain.....most working people have the day off, or work a reduced number of hours....
Voting in the Local and Regional Elections, opened at 9a.m.....so we went along to our Social Centre to cast our vote for the Local Town Council Election.
It's strongly believed, that for the first time since democracy was restored, in 1975, that the results won't be simply between the 2 major parties..the PP and the PSOE...instead relatively new and smaller Parties are expected to make big gains, especially in Madrid and in Barcelona.
In our town, the Mayor..El Alcalde..has been in post for 8 years, and he and his Party, are hoping to win another 4 years in Office, based on their track record during their previous administrations..
.....let's see what the results bring!
