La Point du Raz

Drove to Porz Poulhan on the way to Point du Raz. A wonderful coastal walk, starting from the small protected harbour of Porz Poulhan. And around a rocky coast to the lovely white sanded beach ( apparently it can have bad currents but looked perfect today)

Past an archeological dig of a very old cave the hearth there has been dated as 500, 000 years old ie before Neathanderhal and homo erectus etc. there was tool making and flints.
At the centre Nearby were demos of fire making, bead making, dyes, knapping, etc etc. our lucky day - fascinating.
Next a large burial mound (Barrow?) initiallly 2 then 3 then 4 graves, then another layer and a larger tomb on top. About 20m by 10m. They had excavated part out and you could see the small burial rooms.

Right beside this was a historic guard box from the time of Louis X1V. They were short people!

Near the start were a group of standing stones could have been a small 2 room house, or another burial site por la outré monde. The roof stones were massive.

Interesting a thick Alantic sea fog this morning that cleared, to South of the Point. Practised French asking for coffee, and fresh bread. What is the word for slice it please?
French bread is so yummy.
