Our last hill climbed!
We've had a lovely walk today, climbing up onto Danby Rigg and then through fields (a new path for us) to the Danby North York Moors Centre. The print exhibition in the centre is one of the best exhibitions we've seen there for some time - highly recommended. It's an international exhibition with printmakers from North Yorkshire, Scotland, Sweden and Finland called Mirror Images. I also enjoyed seeing the House Martins re-building their nests in the corners of windows - four pairs I think. House Martin numbers are now seriously depleted in this country and these are the first I've seen this year. (They used to nest on our house.) We are supposed to be carrying out a survey on a kilometre square on the top of Grenoside on behalf of the BTO but on the occasions I've had chance for a preliminary look I've only seen swallows in the area.
p.s. The extra photo shows our last hill climb of the day (Ann is sitting at the top of the hill you can see here) after that it was more or less all downhill.
